Last year at LPE, we began a new Character Ed program (Character First) thanks to a generous donation from one of our families. Studies show that comprehensive character education addresses many difficult issues in education while developing a positive school climate. Our goal at LPE is to create a warm and nurturing environment in which ALL students and families feel welcome and safe! Our program is broken down into specific character traits which we focus on monthly. To be effective in school, character education must involve everyone - school staff, parents, students, and community members. Parents and family members are encouraged to focus on these traits throughout each month at home. The curriculum packets for each of our monthly character traits are below along with other websites and resources.
